USE OF 3-LETTER COUNTRY/ TERRITORY CODES AS TOP-LEVEL DOMAINS

 

The Eighth Roundtable was held on 8th December 2015 from 11:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs at Department of Electronics & IT (DeitY), Electronics Niketan, 6 CGO Complex, Lodhi road, New Delhi. It continued the series of Multistakeholders consultations under Internet Governance.

The Cross Community Working Group on the Use of Country and Territory Names as top-level domains (“CCWG-UCTN”) had sent a communication to the GAC chair/ co-chairs on 9 September 2015, which was forwarded to the larger GAC group on 25 September. The communication asks a series of questions related to the use of 3-letter country and territory codes (“3-letter codes”). The CCWG-UCTN has asked for a formal response in this regard from all stakeholders.
